December 7, 2007, Meeting Report
    Andy Gilbert, of PC Richards, presented the annual "Hi-Tech Holiday Gift Guide" which included new networking devices, a detailed discussion about notebook specs, the newest printers and "Location-Free TV," a device to control and stream TV/video across a network and the Internet.

November 2, 2007, Meeting Report
    Larry Cohen presented three of his freeware selections for this year including IEToys, TColck and Calnedar Magic "The Swiss Army knife of calendaring programs." Ira Brickman presented Microsfts maps at live.com, including the new Birtual Earth #D. And he went over tweaks to enable faster browsing, including using OpenDNS and additional speed-ups especially for Internet Explorer.

October 5, 2007, Meeting Report
    Charlie Wagner, Ira Brickman and Larry Cohen presented their freeware selections for this year's Fabulous Freeware 2007. Members received a Fabulous Freeware CD containing all the programs selected for this year. Time grew short for Larry's presentation, so he will continue at the next meeting.

September 7, 2007, Meeting Report
    Charlie Wagner and Ira Brickman presented the latest in helpful computing: using no-install programs on USB flash drives with their own menuing systems to bring your own programs and data to any PC and leave no trail or trace of your work or browsing.

    PC Richard & Son's Andy Gilbert presented information about the latest flavors of Microsoft Vista, the current technology in notebook computers and other hi-tech items that are perfect for stufdents who will soon be back-to-school.

    Laura Leita discussed the various aspects of Google Desktop and John Leita explained using High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging in Photoshop to improve the tonal qualities of digital photographs.

June 1st, 2007, Meeting Report
    Bernie and Shep Gorman, clinical psychologists and college professors by profession, showed how to capturing/gather content, edit audio and video, and then produce DVD's, or distribute content online, all using some fairly inexpensive hardware and often-free software. They spoke on new means of distibuting content including podcasts and streaming video services. They distributed a CD with software (and a hardcopy listing of its contents) and their PowerPoint presentation(and a hardcopy of the slides to review.)

    Laura Leita showed the club how to use Dreamweaver to easily create Web pages and Web sites.

April 6th, 2007, Meeting Report
    A live demonstration of Smart Computing magazine and Web site, and an introduction to Smart Computing’s sister publications - PC Today, Computer Power User, and the Reference Series.

March 2nd, 2007, Meeting Report
    A member Q&A seesion covered imaging hared drives for backups and considerations when purchasing notebook computers. President Tom Engel demonstrations Office 2007 and Charlie Wagner demo'ed Stellarium.

February 2nd, 2007, Meeting Report
    At the Bethpage Public Library, ICON VP Randy Gilbert answered members' computer and technology questions. Charlie Wagner displayed the freeware program, Stellarium.

January 5th, 2007, Meeting Report
    ICON member John Leita presented "Video Editing Freeware Made Easy," which was filled with freeware programs and editing techniques for anyone interested in editing videos for a professional look and feel.
